Pastor Andrew Moses

The beginnings of this ministry to the Indian community started in December 2000 in Hong Kong by a few believers in Christ from the Sindhi community. Initially, monthly meetings were held with Indians from different backgrounds for fellowship and sharing the good news of Christ. From this beginning, the Indian congregation was formally birthed in 2005.

The vision to reach out to the Indian people living in Hong Kong is on the heart of Pastor Andrew Moses. The church has a burden to share the good news of new life in Christ to the 40,000 Indians in Hong Kong, most of whom belong to other faiths. Pastor Andrew also sees that the church is there to meet the spiritual needs of Indian Christians who come as expatriates to Hong Kong so that their time in Hong Kong will be one where they find friendship, fellowship and encouragement to grow in the things of God. His vision is also for the congregation to be strong and stable with emphasis on discipling so that those who are impacted by the gospel message are encouraged to grow in spiritual maturity and service.

Recently, the worship service, which used to be on Saturdays, has moved to Sundays. The church service also moved its location and now meets at the YWCA in Yau Ma Tei. The congregation consists of Indians from all parts of India as well as a considerable number of Sindhis, and a sprinkling of people from other nationalities. All the activities and services are in English – India is a land of many languages but most Indians in Hong Kong are English speaking.

In addition to the main worship service, there is a strong children's ministry, covering three different age groups; a youth ministry; and home groups, which meet during the week. As the congregation is growing numerically we sense a real breakthrough in the congregation's understanding and faith in Christ and their growth in spiritual maturity. Therefore we have a pressing need to develop more mature leaders to support this.

Within the next few years, we are eager to experience a congregational growth to 500 members, with a dynamic leadership base and full-time pastors ministering to this growing group of Indians here in Hong Kong.

Do you have an Indian ethnic background? Do you know of someone who has? Do you have a sense of burden for serving the Indian ethnic community? Then we want to invite you to come, bring your friends and experience a new dynamic in people relationship and warmth of fellowship. You will not regret your visit to our church service.
