PHILOSOPHY
ICA's GENNEXT Ministry is for children, pre-teens and teens up to 14 years old. It is a very important ministry in the church as we endeavor to raise them up as leaders of today and tomorrow. We believe in growing kids toward full devotion to Christ, assist them in meeting the challenges their generation faces, and training them to become people of the Kingdom.

Our key verse is Proverbs 22:6: 'Train up a child in the way he should go, so when he is old, he will not depart from it.' We also believe in the Deuteronomy 6 principles that exhort parents to take the commands we have been given to 'Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.' We strongly believe the role of parents is to be the primary spiritual leaders of their children, and our role as the church is to partner with them in this great mission.

PURPOSE
There are 3-fold purposes of  GENNEXT:

Firstly, we want to inform every child with the Word of God, teaching them the content of the Bible, and be filled with a good understanding of the Scripture. We want them to know the ways of God, the works of God and the will of God.

Secondly, the children will have a desire to conform to the image of Jesus Christ.  The knowledge derived from every lesson will in turn bring about an intentional application of the Word in their lives.

Thirdly, the Holy Spirit will transform or change them as they renew their minds and experience powerful breakthrough in their relationship with God.

It is our desire to create a strong, thriving ministry where kids are loved and volunteers are valued, where the life-changing truth of Scripture becomes a life-long reality for every child who walks through the doors of ICA.

PRINCIPLE
We want to do this ministry with excellence and give our best to God in the task of nurturing each child to be what God wants them to be.
We want them to experience God.
We want them to love Him and obey His Word.
We want them to exercise their spiritual gifts within the body of Christ.
We want them to nurture strong relationships with others through this ministry.
We want them to avail themselves as vessels God can use to touch their friends.

PARADIGM
Children are going to form an impression of God through our ministry. Therefore, it is important that we reflect accurately how awesome it is to have a vibrant and growing relationship with God.

To create such a picture, we want to see the children having so much fun learning and believing how awesome God is that they won't want to miss a single week.  We want to see a strong people-focus ministry where children receive intentional shepherding, they are known and loved and adult volunteers serve them with a strong sense of purpose.

PERSONNEL
GENNEXT's staff and volunteers work best as a team when everyone serves only in roles that allow them to use their God-given gifts and abilities. Placing volunteers and encouraging them in their areas of giftedness is vitally important to maintaining a positive, effective ministry.
